sc...... i have had my twin grandson since birth and have had his sister off and on,now shes with friends of mine who help me take care of her. My problem is: My daughter came into my home shortly after they were born and said she couldn't handle it and if i didnt take care of them she was going to leave and never return, she even said that when she did have my grandson she felt like throwing him across the room.well i got in touch with her husband at work,he came home but didnt know what to do so in the mean time i have been taking care of them along with my friend.neither parent seems to take an interest in the children, the home is nasty, they are behind on their bills and they do nothing with the children. Now they are coming in telling me they are going to take the children and go visit his family in chicago, and i'm worried about who will take care of them and do i have any legal right to stop them.please,,,,help me.i dont have much but i have more love to give them than anyone else.they are very well taken care of.i take them to drs and everything,i buy all their clothes, food, and furnish them with a loving home.she was taking medication which she has not been back to her dr since.it as if they dont know what to do with them.there is also some drugs involved with them, but neither have ever had a record. thank you for any help.

you need to talk with an attorney. Try to get guardianship of the twins. How old are they? Document everything, what you have paid for, when has the parents seen them, etx... why does your friend have the other twin and not you? That could be an issue in court because it shows you cannot handle the both of them. You need to protect these children to the best you can. Talk with a lawyer asap.
