Child Custody with Child support?

What is the name of your state? Colorado.
I have a 13 month old son but his father left us when he was three months old and I havent ever actually gotten custody of him....I am the custodial parent but I was wanting to get sole custody of him. But my question is- if you get sole custody of your child will the pther parent have to still pay child support?

Sure. But don't think that it excludes Dad from having parental rights. Or from being able to file for visitation.
