is there a legal age at which a child can make a decision about where he/she wants to live? currently, the biological mother has custody of the child, age 10. the child is considering moving in with his biological father. if there is no legal cut-off age, is this decision left to the judge's discretion?

thanks

i read a post once where it was age 12, but i can't find anything in statutes anywhere.

alot depends upon the maturity level of the child. a judge could allow a younger child to voice an opinion if they have a higher level of maturity than average. and for some reason, kids of divorce tend to.
