What is the name of your state?PA

I am a US citizen and my fiance is Canadian and here on a sponsored 5 year Visa. We have an 8 week old child together. We were interested in visiting his parents in Canada but we have not received her birth certificate yet from the Pennsylvania Department of Health and probably won't by the time we wanted to visit. He and I are planning to travel together to Canada so her mother and father would be present when crossing the border but logic tells me that we would need some sort of proof that the child traveling with us is ours. Without her State issued birth certificate is it possible to go to and from Canada without problem? And any other suggestions are appreciated.

On another note, I am curious about something. Because I am a US citizen and my child's father is Canadian does that mean that my child does/could have dual citizenship? Would it be automatic or something I'd have to obtain. What type of process would need to be done in her case to obtain this?

Thank you so much for these links. I appreciate you taking the time to find these for me. I had been looking around in the forum for answers to no avail.

Travel With One Name On Birth Certificate

I talked to the PA Dept of Health who handles birth and death certificates for the state of PA because I have not received my daughter's birth certificate. They told me that they will send out the birth certificate right away so I will have it for our trip. However, her father will NOT be listed on it because they have not received the Acknowledgement of Paternity form from the Dept of Welfare yet. Under the father's name it will read, "not yet filed." I just want to make sure that my information will be enough to enter Canada and get back to the United States with my daughter. Does anyone know? I emailed the US Consulate but I'm afraid I won't hear word from them before I leave.
