I'm in Pennsylvania, married with a 21 month old disabled child. We have Social Security Insurance (SSI) for him.

Questions are:
Do we have to claim the SSI in next year's (Feb-April 2005) 2004 Federal and State Income Tax Return?

If so, how does the SSI income affect our tax refund?

SSI will come to you in the child's name, with the child's SSN. It isn't taxable to you, and probably won't be to the child unless and until the child begins earning money, at which point they will lower or discontinue the SSI.
