What is the name of your state? California

My husband and I just recently married in April. I have one 5 year old son and my hubby has three minor children ages from 12-8. These children are with us full-time and the natural mother lost ALL parental rights years ago. He also has another child aged 1 1/2 years old, this child lives with her mother, they were never married. Basicly, the mother and my husband came up with a "verbal" aggrement for him to pay her child support in the amount of $400.00 (He gives this to her every week, or bi-wkly sometimes but never the less he is faithful with his payments). I personally think that there should be some sort of "paper trail" regarding this child. The mother tends to get a bit angered when he doesn't return her calls, she will say things such as "its in your best interest to call me back" or "do we want to bring leagl matters into this?..." She leaves these msgs for him ignoring her calls during the week! Basicly, at this point in time what do you think we should do about this? Also, with us having 4 other children to support full-time in our home - I am out of work at this time so the only income is of my husbands - how can we calculate what his CS payment should be per mth?
