What is the name of your state? Wyoming

This sounds confusing and I will try to keep it simple. My husband gets SSDI. He has a court order in place right now in Ohio where they take out 50% of his SSDI for backpayments. Sunday we got a summons, but for our state and for our kids. Let me explain that...our kids were in state custody for 5 months. We believe that the state of Wyoming wants child support for those 5 months for the kids. (That's fine, I understand that.) Now, since another state is already taking out the max amount for for his other son does that mean the state is going to have to wait till that amount is done? Or will they just "cut" into some of it with a new order? The back amount in Ohio was for $35,000. (And that's a loooong seperate story on it's own!) They have been taking out of his check for 8 years now, which if my math is correct and going only off $400 a month for 82 months he has been paying this (which isn't right either cause every year it went up some every month, he would be very near or even past that amount.) Anyway, the summons asked if he has any arrears he is paying and of course he does. Now we have to contact Ohio and find out how much is left. Can we do that by phone? Or will they only give that info by mail? How long will it take to get that information back? cause we are suppose to have this paper for income turned into the courts here Nov. 14th. (The hearing is on Nov. 28th.)

Thanks!

A little Update

Well, I found a payment 800 number to the child support enforcement in Ohio. Plugged in hubby's SS number and they gave us the case number and the balance due as of yesterday. (Which is $72,420.84) Ok I am just flabergassted. Do they add interest on back child support? Where the heck did the $30,000 go that we had already paid? I guess Wyoming would be waiting a long time for it's money if they had to wait for Ohio to stop drawing off his SSDI checks!

Uuuh, YEAH they add on interest. He basically took a loan on the money he should have been paying, so now he gets to pay back principal and interest. I hope y'all haven't co-mingled assets.

Assets

We don't have any assests. A car which has more due on the loan then what it is worth. That's it. I also went through a thing with them a few years ago when I worked and got back a tax return of $3,000, had to file a injured spouse report, and got all the taxes back (with interest.) The story about oweing back child support goes like this. He got a divorce, was ordered to pay $250 a month, soon after got on SSDI. Social Security told him no problem cause his son would get half of his check every month. (Around $400) The check went to his ex, but not through child support...f course he couldn't change that only she could. So, 10 years later they say he owes back child support. Back then it was at $35,000.
