What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? North Carolina
I have a situation that was told to me that it was considered child support fraud which is against the law. My daughter's mom and I wasn't together at the time she filed child support against me, about a year later, we agreed to move in together and work on getting married along with her dropping the child support. Her and my daughter lived with me for almost a year with me still paying child support. That really put me in a bind including losing my car. I kept asking her during the time we were staying together to drop the support but she refused. So if it's against the law, what can I do to receive the money back that i paid during the time they were under my care.

Sorry, but the onus was on you to get the order modified based upon you all living together.

If you or she didn't do anything about it then, you're out of luck.

there is nothing illegal about a child support order while living under the same roof.

why didn't YOU ever file for a modification while mom and child were living with you?

are they still living with you? was mom receiving any state assistance while living with you?

If you are living together, how is you "paying her" bankrupting you? unless she is/was on welfare?...
