What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? OHIO

I know I will be paying child support, because I make about 64% of the income. We want complete split custody/shared parenting.50/50...what ever you call it. How much does that really affect the child support formula? or does it at all? We want to agree on $400 dollars a month for our 2 boys, but the formula comes up with $580-$680, depending on how I do it. (It’s confusing as hell).
If we are doing a dissolution, are we aloud to agree on $400 a month? This is based on our personal formula, to make sure we both have the same amount of money to support our childern per month.

Yes, you are allowed to come up with your own amount. However, please make sure that you agree upon, and put in writing, things like uninsured medical expenses, daycare, school expenses and other things that are normally in addition to/handled separately from, regular base child support. If you handle those things now, and have an enforceable agreement, it will likely save you grief later on.
