What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida

I lost my job back in April and had to moved to Polk County because I lost my home as well, I currently pay $640 for one child. The mother of my child lives in Monroe County, I want to have the child support modification done but do I have to file in the county I live now or in the county she lives??
Thanks!!

Where was the order made? That would be the county you would need to do modification in.

Was the order issued in Monroe County?
If it was, you'll have to file there.

However, if neither you nor ex live in the county that issued the order, you'll have to file for a change of venue to Polk county or if you wish and ex agrees, the order can be moved to Monroe County.

This advice is from very unfortunate dealings with the 10th circuit judges,(which includes Polk Co). The Judges here tend to be very biased against men. If you do have the venue changed to Polk, you really will need an attorney, or at the very least learn all of the laws, print them out and bring them to court and hire a court reporter. Then be prepared to pay a small fortune to file an appeal if you are unlucky enough to get one of the 5 biased Judges in this circuit.
