we live in california. My husband had paid child support for his children until the age of 18. the youngest is now in his thirties. his ex-wife has told her children that he never paid and that he is not going to sue him for back support. can this be done? we don't even know if the bank keeps records back that far. what can we do?

Nothing.. until she actually files a petition. Chances are she will not.
