Sorry wasn't sure how to post.
My question is little complicated. I live in Nebraska and have a 12 yr old child. Been divorced from her father since 2002. He doesn't consistently pay his child support and is currently $10, 400 behind. In this state you have a case worker In your county to enforce the order. My ex is always changing jobs and moving to avoid his child support obligation. Until march it had been 7 months since I had received any payment because once again he quit his job and moved. I made several calls to my case worker with child support enforcement to only get the run around from her. Long story short nothing was done. I called in December to let her know I had found out where he was working. Gave her the info and she said she would submit a withholding to his employer. After a month of hearing anything I called and she said she had submitted it and was waiting to hear back. After a few more weeks I called to check again, I was unable to get ahold of her so called the call center in Lincoln. And I was told there hadn't been a income withholding submitted. Next day I call her again and she tells me that she had submitted it 2 days prior with no explanation as to why she had told me a month prior she had already done it. Then yesterday I'm approached by my employer who received income and insurance verification papers on me directly from. This case worker. My boss called to see what it was about and was told it was for a possible modification. Now I know

How the process works for a modification and it doesn't include her involving my employer. Without giving me any notice that he was requesting a modification. And being given the opportunity to submit the information myself. I feel her going directly to my employer is wrong. I do believe she has a personal relationship with my ex husband and that her husband and him are friends. We live in a small town. Clearly something is off considering how I continue to get run around from her. I just don't know what I can do about this!

Talk with her supervisor.

Her supervisor is the county attorney. He is just as bad and crooked as she is! She was his secretary with his private practice before he became the county attorney. I will get no where with him either. I called 6 times yesterday to speak with them about this and as usual haven't gotten a call back.

If that's indeed how the game is being played, then you need an attorney on your side who can play it just as well as they can, and represent your interests. If your town is as small as you've related, then you're unlikely to get a new caseworker assigned. When the government representative isn't doing their job, the best option is usually to hire someone who will do it.

I understand what you mean by the small town mentality, I live it here in Ky. I know laws are different, but wanted to give you a possible avenue to pursue, if you choose. When I had a problem with my local worker & her Spvr, I asked for their boss' number. After the dazed looked cleared, I told her I meant I wanted her business card & the number of the office on the State level (which is Frankfort here) I did make the call and my issues were resolved VERY quickly....all it took was somebody sent an email & the Spvr changed her tune ;)

On another note, I don't think the case worker sending a formal request is anything in violation of her job. Although I agree, it was completely avoidable & she knew you would cooperate so she was probably just being a %(TW$. JMHO, I don't think it's something she would get in any kind of trouble for.
