What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? VT. Here is a question that was talked about among us child support payers. The surcharges for child support is an interest penalty when child support gets behind. Is this surcharge a tax deduction since it is not actual child support? Faith

Nope...it is not. The only interest that is tax deductible is mortgage interest or interest associated with producing income.
