i obtained my divorce in texas in '98. my child support has never been modified. since then my ex-husband has been promoted in rank in the military. i now live in arizona and was told that i would need to get a lawyer in texas. i attempted to do this but it was too expensive. now my ex-husband tells me he is getting out of the military this august. my current child support comes directly out of his check and sent to texas and then to me. what steps can i take to ensure that child support orders are in place during the transition from him getting out of the military and obtaining a civil job? also, how i can i obtain any arrears owed me from when he was promoted?
