Florida - My High School Student was the recipient of a very "realistic" fake bomb in his school locker a few weeks back. School was cancelled for the remainder of the day, and a complete investigation took place. Due to the diligence of the school police, etc... the student who created it and planted it in my sons locker has been arrested as an adult and is currently awaiting being charged with a felony and misdemeanor. If this student wasn't caught, my child would be taking the rap for this right now. My child was affected in many ways from the events that took place. Including the constant joking and ridicule from students calling him the "unabomber" etc... even though they know he had nothing to do with it. My child has been emotionally unstable since about the age of 4 and has been on appropriate medication and in the proper classroom settings, we've been making such good progress these past few years in getting him main-streamed again, but this has set him back drastically. Do I have any recourse in this? Is my child eligible for any compensation? Thanks
