What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Michigan

My 16 year old ordered some Disney children books through a mail in subscribtion. She did not pay for the books. Now collection agencys are sending me notices to pay or be reported to the credit bureau. They say they have sent me bills, which I probably threw away as junk mail. Now they are saying my account is going to be reported to the credit bureau. Should I pay the debt, and have it reported to the credit bureau as a paid collection, or keep disputing the debt is not mine?

If she ordered the books, how then did she intend to pay for them - or was she assuming YOU would ??

Was your credit card used ? Did she use YOUR social security number ?? In whose name did she order these books ???

If she ordered them under her own name, then they cannot put the collection on YOUR reports.

If they have YOUR name and address, its entirely likely that the collection is ALREADY on your reports and don't believe them when they say if you pay they won't report - they LIE !

I live in the state of Michigan.

My daughter filled out a preaddressed card addressed to "The Parents Of" It did not have my name on it. My credit card was not used or my social security number. But they sent the bill in my name. She says she did not know they had to be paid for. Can they make me responsible for this?
