i am from mn. i was told through the grapevine that children as young as 11 can legally ask to live with one parent if he or she wishes and to visit the other when they want. is this true?

I am in GA, but as of late, the law here is that 11-14 year olds have a say. The judge will take it into consideration when determining what is in the child's best interest, but only when the child is 14 or above can they make the decision on their own. This is advice I received from my attorney just last week.
