Choosing A Lawyer

I live in Texas,I am confused about how to find a good lawyer. I went ith my friend and thought we got a terrific one who turned out to know little and cost 6500. While her husband's was fantastic and charged 500. I need to find a lawyer and am not sure how to find a good divorce attorney.

My response:

Call the Texas State Bar Association for a referral to a Family Law panel attorney. Only those attorneys who have shown, and demonstrated, high standards in their practice are included in the State Bar panel of attorneys. Not every attorney can become a panel member.
