What is the name of your state? minnesota.
the state of minn has whats called (rehab rquirements)in order to get my license reinstated.
one of the stipulations is that i attend and provide proof of attendance at alcaholics anonymous for 3 months.the supreme court, fed circuit court and numerous state supreme courts have agreed that this requirement is unconstitutional and in this case the state must provide a non nreligious alternative.ive repeatedly asked them WHAT alternatives theyll accept.they reply by telling me attendance at any CHURCH will do.how do i penetrate the skulls of these idiots.im not afflicted with a belief in god/gods/santa clause/ easter bunny/flat earth.what rulings can i bring to bear against these people?

Your post is unclear.

Is the motor vehicle dept requiring the AAs,, or, is it the court requiring them in settlement of a criminal charge ?

I have never heard of motor vehicles caring about AAs, I presume it's the court.

If it's the court, you have a non-AA alternative: jail.

You can check on other alcohol programs which the Prosecutor may accept in lieu.

It sounds like you are just avoiding going to an alcohol program.
AA has a very good sucess rate. If you don't like it for whatever reason, do the jail time or try to locate a program the Pros will agree is similar enough.
Look for something harsher, though, if you are going to sell it to the Prosecutor.

OP google "rationale recovery" this is anti AA therapy that has had a small success in getting the courts to recognize and approve treatment. There are also links at the cite with legal information.

It's funny that you think of AA as "religious" ... I don't kow of any religious organization that does because AA (and all similar 12 step programs ... which is most of them) recognize "god" as being almost any "higher power" that a person wants to consider it to be. And, frankly, most churches are not quite so broad in their definition of "God".

The success rates for religious based rehab programs is quite high - much higher than those that are not based on a spiritual or religious message. There are a number of reasons for this, but it is sufficient to say that the programs work.

In many jurisdictions these are the only programs available. So, it's a choice of paying for your own program and traveling far afield, or taking the locally provided 12-step or misc. church supported program.

AA's higher power doesn't have to be religion based. You can pick nature, space aliens, or whatever you wish, just so you can admit that things can be governed at times by something greater than yourself.
