I entered united state with k1 visa on feb /2002 after i got married to an american citizen in my home country .
Got my condetional green card on 6/03
Got my permenant green card aprroval on 9/05
My question is : can I apply for citizenship now as i entered united state since 3 years ago on feb /02 - or my three years for citizenship application should be counted startting when i got my condetional green card on 6/03 (which means i still have to wait till 6/06 in order to be able to apply for citizenship !!!)
Thank you

Are you sure you married in your home country and then entered the US on a K-1 visa? It's important; think about the answer.
If the answer is yes, see an attorney BEFORE you file for natuaralization.

The requirements for naturalization can be found at uscis.gov in the How Do I section. You can not start counting toward eligibility until you are a Permanent Resident. That date is on your Green Card after "Resident Since:"
(in your case around 6/03)
Count forward three years from then, and that is when you are normally eligible. So yes, you have to wait.
You will have to file to Remove Conditions first; that happens at 2 years as a PR. Instructions at uscis.gov

But, if you had a marriage outside the US before you entered with a K-1 visa, please see a lawyer. You might not only get turned down for citizenship, but have your Green Card taken away as well.

The K1 visa is ONLY to be used by a fiance/e of a USC, not a spouse of a USC. If you were married outside the US, you would have had to enter the US on a spouse visa, not the K1.
Some authorities could actually consider you entered this country illegally or with "false" documents.

Sorry

Guys : it is K3 visa The Marriage Visa ( also known as Spousal Visa ) it is given to the spouse of an american citizen to wait her green card in usa instead of waiting for it in her home country
sorry for typing mistake which i did , It is K3 visa not K1 visa

evcaleptos: Thank you for your nice replay and for your reasonable discussion . I already got my permenant green card after my condetional green card removal has been approved . so now i should count years for citizen ship starting 6/03 not starting feb 02 !!!

AHA : Please next time try to be little bit reasonable because throwing your ilegal thoughts

You can only file for your citizenship three years after you get your permanent resident status NOT three years after your entry to the US. As far as filing, you can actually file the application within 90 days of that 3-year anniversary of the grant of permanent residence.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions or if I may be of further assistance to you in this matter.

Telling the truth IS being reasonable!! I said some AUTHORITIES could see it as illegal. Get thicker skin if you can't take someone telling it like it is.
You're welcome!

Yo, mania:
You posted the K-1 in error, we couldn't read your mind, and both AHA and I picked up on that little detail.. We're both familiar with the K-3 visa AND the K-1, which is why we answered as we did. I said the same thing as AHA :)

Some people -do- do what you originally posted.. thinking that it's OK. We were both alerting you to a potential problem. I left in the info about I-751 for the benefit of future readers who sometimes search the site for an answer to their own question.

Anyway, congrats on your quick removal of conditions and it sounds like you are on track for you N-400 (us too!). Best of luck with your case.
