What is the name of your state? Kansas

Helping a friend with credit report.

Filed Bankruptcy on Creditor.

Creditor has court judgement.

Notified credit bureau(s) with copies of Bankruptcy list of creditors and discharge notice.

Credit Bureau did not update......still shows judgement....and remains unchanged.

Question....

Does a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy supersede Civil Judgements? Should this entry still show a balance......and not display that it was on BK?

The bankruptcy eliminated the underlying debt that caused the judgment, but filing for bankruptcy does NOT automatically vacate (erase) that judgment in civil court. What you need to do is to file a Motion to Vacate with the court that rendered the judgment. Your reason for it.. bankruptcy, debt discharged. Once you receive notice that it has been vacated, wait about 2 months, the re-dispute with the credit bureaus.

**A: in all honesty, Ladynred does her best in responding and that is a lot better than you. We need her on this website.
And if you keep it up about my girlfriend, you will need to change your user name to dadeepbadudu.

no we dont

when people are in debt they need legal responsible answers to their questions. Ladynred does not have this knowlege only thinks that he/she does. She/he is not a lawyer as her millions of replies states. If she is so knowledgeable is it because she has tons of debt herself and is a loser, and if she can answer so many replies accurately and correctly why isn't she a lawyer? Just a want to be ha ha ha.

judgement included in bankruptcy chapter 7

A judgement was filed against me in Suffolk County in 1998. I then filed chapter 7 in 2000. I recently obtained my credit reports and the judgement does not show discharged in bankruptcy.

What do I need to do to clear this up?

BradleyS - feel free to use my disclaimer :)

Toniad - You need to dispute the entry on your reports as 'included in bankruptcy', but FIRST you need to do exactly the same thing I told BradleyS, get the judgment vacated in the court where it was entered against you. Wait and then dispute the entry with the bureaus.

Racer & HG - I love you guys :D
