I am concerned about the SETS program voice response unit. I have completed my child support obligation that was being collected from Ohio for the state of NJ. The state of NJ has closed the case and has taken my case off of their voice response unit stating the case can not be found. Ohio, who was just doing collection, still has my case still active with a zero balance. They still announce my case number with the last payment made and the total balance due. Which is zero. Shouldn't this information be no longer be made public as my debt has been satisfied and that case no longer exists.
I was told by the Ohio CSEA that will remain on for an unknown amount of time. I feel this is an invasion of my privacy keeping this as public record for whom ever has my social security number such as banks, businesses and so on.
Your input please............

i don't think i would worry about it so much, look at it this way, your obligation has been paid, that stands for a good credit rating, so if anyone was to check, they would see that!

on the other hand, if it truly bothers you, then write a letter to the head of the department asking them to assist you in the best way.

good luck.;)
