Hi all I just got divorced in Florida. During our marriage my ex husband promised to give me money towards a family debt that occurred while we were married I paid the debt back and he promised to give me half which is $3000. I had a text from him stating he would make an arrangement to pay me back the money. The judge denied my claim because I couldn't show that the family had taken the $6000 from my account. Can someone explain why it matters if they took the money or not if he agreed to pay then why not pay. I was thinking it's because I couldn't prove the debt occurred during the marriage. If this is the case can I take it to another court?

Because you don't get to unjustly enrich yourself. And no you cannot go to another court for a marital debt.
