What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA

Pro per here who is the prevailing party in a partition action. I am found to be the prevailing party and to have received 100% of the remaining funds from the property after sale and payment of the partition referee.

I am now ready to file the memorandum of costs, and of course, would like to recover the fees from the referee. Normally, as I understand it, I would claim costs on the memorandum of costs. Yet, if costs are attorney's fees, it is my understanding that a separate motion is required. What though for the costs of the partition referee? Do I make a motion for these, or simply enter them in the memorandum and wait for a motion to tax?
