I was divorced in Sept.2000,can I claim my ex as a dependant.She was awarded kids,house and everything.She walked away from all of it in Oct.2000.I filed for temp.custody and have everything back.What can I claim.?I Live in Georgia

well, just as if you got married on 12-31-XX you can file as married for the year, the same works in opposite for divorce. So, technically, no you cannot claim you wife as a dependant unless she lived under your roof and you paid more than 50% of her support. If this is true, then just make sure that she isn't claiming herself.
