What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

Last year I found out that I had a two year old daughter (mother kept telling me she was mine but I had doubts do to her cheating I filed for paternity with the AG) I have been fighting the last year in having a relationship with my daughter due to this long on going court battle and her mother being unreasonable I am still doing that. Last year I was ordered to pay $173.00 a month a $45.00 a month for medical support. Her mother had her on medicaide and then it got dropped. I am not sure if she has gotten her back on it yet. Heres my question I am coming up to have medical insurance through my job and want to add her, but I am having a hard time understanding this clause in the paper. It states

" If the cash medical support is discontinued pursant to the " CASH MEDICAL SUPPORT" provisions becasue I obtain health insurance for the child, I shall be responsible for 100% of the childs total health care expenses incurred in any month in which he neither pays the cash medical support nor provides health care coverage for the child"

Does this mean if I get health insurance through my employer and she goes to the doctor I am responsible for the copay as well as the cost of RX?

I was under the impression that if I obtined health insurance for my daughter that who ever had her in their care when going to the doctor or ER was resposible for this. Can someone please help me clarify this. I always thought it was better to have her on private insurance then medicaide, this to show I was doing right by my daughter. Also if I get her on health insurance and her mother keeps her on meciade will I be responsible in paying back the state for the medcaide even though I have her on a private Insurance? I just need some help clarifing this. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

OP: you have to go to the Atty Gen'l's Office after you enroll your child on your insurance. Bring a copy of the insurance enrollment and the insurance cards, if available. The OAG will stop the medical support order (& wage garnishment) of 45. a month (read your order & it says this within).

At present, and after you obtain insurance, you are responsible for 50% of any unreimbursed medical expenses (read your order).
Your child may be able to stay on Medicaid even though you are enrolled in a health ins plan. Medicaid just seeks reimbursement from the ins co. If the custodial parent's income increases to a point where that parent doesn't qualify for Medicaid, then the ins will be the only provider.

When paternity was established, the custodial parent should have been given a sheet to list their portion of unreimbursed medical expenses. There are requirements before reimbursement would be ordered by the court. If you have questions about this, call the child support office. They do not enforce reimbursement often.
