i live in Ohio, and i was recently caught with a parking tag in my car that turned out to be stolen.
the officer told me that he might charge me with class 1 misdemeanour or he may not press charges at all.

he told me to make a statement at the police station and later told me that he may not bring charges against me if my statement is found to be true. is this possible? or is he just doing that to sweet talk me?

does having a stolen parking pass inside my car (without my knowledge) really constitute class 1 misdemeanour? if so what are the maximum penalty look like?

thanks.

zi have absolutely no clue how to answer you because there are a LOT of facts missing. But word to the wise, neevr talk to the police without your lawyer and never sign a statement. CALLED self-incrimination and you have a 5th AMENDMENT right not to self incriminate
