Hi. My fiance and I live in Arapahoe County, Colorado and he has 2 children from a previous marriage that he just fought and won joint custody over with his ex. She used to have sole custody. She just notified him that she lost her job. She wants to pull their youngest daughter out of her preschool/daycare over the summer because she says she can't afford to pay for her half of it and we can't afford to pay for the whole thing. We also pay her $150/month over the half of the daycare to compensate for the previous discrepancies in their incomes. How is her being fired going to affect the child support he is ordered to pay? He said he is going to give her a month to find another job and after that will contact our attorney to find out what to do next. I think he should find out now. She's bascially going to be pocketing the $250.00/month that was to go to the daycare. Is that fair? Could the child support amount he pays be increased because she lost her job?
