I live in New Hampshire, and here is the problem. March of 2001 I went to purchase a truck. I found out that I needed a co-signer for the truck that I wanted. I got one. We signed the paperwork.
I have been making the payments for a year now and not missing any. I went to pay my loan online (usually sent check) and found out that the person that co-signed was the owner. He makes about 4 times what I do a year so why would he need a co-signer. The dealership knew that the truck was for me and he was just co-signing. Now, I don't know what to do. How do I change that on the contract? I want to refinance the loan with my bank and not this independant financial service. I don't want to pay on this truck if i don't own it. Both our names are on the registration. Do I need a lawyer to fix this?

If you can get the bank and the co-signer to agree to change it so you are the owner, then there should be no problem. In that case, the bank would probably be able to handle it. If not, contact the Department of Motor Vehicles in NH and ask them for the forms.
