COBRA coverage-Texas

I left my past position in 11/00 to pursue a new job and elected to pay COBRA for coverage until I am eligible for coverage under my new employer. I paid through 3/31/01.

I tried to pick up a Rx last night and was told my insurance was terminated. I paid cash. This morning, I called the ins co. They said my coverage was terminated 12/31/00. (The end of the quarter employed.)

The previous employer cashed my check for $802.14. Since agreed services were not rendered, can I get a full refund from the incompetent employer?
