What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?Arizona
I have a business in Arizona.I repaired a motorcycle for a friend/customer that I have known for quite a while. The bike belonged to a close family freind of his.(from another state)
He instructed me on what was to be done on the bike.Tires.Chain,Sprockets,Battery,Charging problem,Etc.I performed all the requested tasks and then some.
I made the work order out to my friends name (he is the one that gave the instructions) When he picked the bike up I had his wife sign the invoice and she wrote me a check. The check was from the bikes owner.(from another state) I figured that since I've known this customer/friend for quite a while i accepted it.
The out of state owner stopped payment on the check!!!

I think that because I delt with the freind/customer and they signed the invoice I should collect from him.

What should I do? I need help fast.

Thank You.

Do you still have the Hog or did they take it ??

Since the wife signed the invoice, you need to pursue THEM for payment - they basically accepted responsibility for the repairs. They in turn may get the bike owner to pay up.

Kinda figured that might be the case. *Might* be possible to pursue a mechanics lien on it, but you'll need to check the laws in your state AND the owner's state.

Go after the people who signed the invoice - $hit rolls down hill ;)
