I reside in Illinois and am a landlord who has recieved a judgement against a tenant who no longer lives at our property. I realize the tenants have 30 days to appeal the decision by the judge. How long do I have to wait to file w/the courts to have the monies deducted from their paycheck? Also if anyone knows specifics on how I would go about this would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Check with your local court system or Nolo Press website. They have excellent information on how to collect judgements. Place to start is by RECORDING the justement with tenant/debtor's SS# on paperwork. Professional landlords put this on original court paperwork as with computer technology - this is often the first/only time this information is entered on your case.

Good luck.
