Collecting ordered medical payments

What is the name of your state?TEXAS

My X is court ordered to pay me half of all medical expenses for our 2 children.
I have continuously sent him statements and receipts, with a detailed statement of the 1/2 he owes back to me. Not one penny! (Big Surprise) Attorney General won't help.
Rather to pay an attorney and go through all the mess of proving contempt blah blah blah.....Would probably cost me as much as he owes me (about $1500 so far) Our kids have a lot of medical problems that they genetically inherited from him! (The irony!) Anyways, Can't I just periodically take him to small claims court until they turn 18? Then when he still doesn't pay get a writ of garnishment and take that to his bank?

Send two written requests by certified mail, 30 days apart, for reimbursement persuant to the court order. Sounds like you may have already sent the first.

In each request, include a detailed itemization of the expenses and a due date by which you expect payment to be received. In the second demand, indicate that you will have to pursue a judgement in court if the payment is not received by the due date.

Keep copies of EVERYTHING.

If you receive no response, file in Small Claims court. Slam dunk -- you'll have your judgement. Then you'll have to collect it. Check out JETX's advice in the Small Claims forum for suggestions on how to do that in TX.

Be very civil in all of your communications with your ex regarding this...remember that a judge may be reading it all someday. Good luck.
