I am 62 and got laid off, can I collect unemployment and social security at the same time? And if so, which should I file first? I am in Arizona. Thanks

I will be, I think, I just got laid off 3 days ago.
You can file for both at the same time but your social security benefits might affect the amount you receive in unemployment benefits.

I would not delay in filing for unemployment.

All right- appreciate the help, thank you
You're welcome, Lulu. I appreciate the thanks.

Here is a link to a guide on Arizona's Unemployment Benefits:
https://des.az.gov/sites/default/files/legacy/dl/PAU-007.pdf

Arizona changed its unemployment laws recently and I believe that now anyone who is unemployed for at least 4 weeks is expected to take any job offered that pays at least $288/week. The unemployment benefits cap is (if I am reading correctly) $240/week.

Good luck.
