Sept 06 I received my CH7 discharge. Prior to my BK, I had charged a fee on my credit card for a website service that would be billed monthly. My credit card was included in the BK, but the company that I was paying with the credit card was not. After the credit card was closed, the company could no longer bill the monthly charge. They sent me a few emails that they would send my debt to a collection agency and it would be reported on my credit report. I didn't take any action and never heard from them again. Nothing ever showed on my credit report either. Yesterday I received a call from a collection agency stating they had some business with me. I called them back to get the details and they were collecting on this debt I never payed.

I have no problem paying this debt ($20), but I don't want it for some reason to show up on my credit report now.

Also, what seemed a bit wierd to me was that the collection agency told me to make the check out to the company I originally owed "VMC Satelite" and not them "Butler, Robbins & White"

Is this normal?
Should I pay this? Ask for more info?

Thanks for any advice you can give!

Paying the $20 is cheaper and easier than fighting it. You are going to spend more than that just in mailing costs to mount any kind of defense.

Pay it and if it pops up on your credit report, dispute it in six months.
