What is the name of your state?TN. Before I filed my 13 I had an account with Home Depot which was serviced by Citibank. I got behind and the account was turned over to collections. At the same time, I was still receiving a statement from Citibank/Home Depot each month with a minimum due and was still paying interest etc. I brought the account current and was continuing to make the minimum payments. However, I was still receiving phone calls, never letters, from the collection agency demanding payment in full. I told them that my account was current and I had the statements from the OC to prove it. They more or less said "tough" when we get we are going to collect it through all available means. Is it standard operating practice to be getting collection calls and statements from the OC at the same time. I think the collection agency was called RMI.
Thanks

Not too uncommon really for the OC and the CA to be calling, even though it doesn't make much sense. If you farm out to a CA, why use in-house people to call ??

actually the in-house people never called. Just the CA. I got monthly statements from OC listing account as current and showing payments made etc. etc. Just thought it was odd that collection agency would still call and threaten when I wasnt behind. I kind've figured they made a commission on what they collected from me.........so I made it a point to send my payment to the original creditor and not CA.

Sounds like since you paid the OC, they did not call off their collection dogs and the CA was assuming, since THEY didn't get any money from you, that you were not paying.
