From Minnesota: Is there a 21 day law that says you have to notify the ex residents of the apartment of any bills they owe for uncleaned apartment that they left?

I was the tenant.

Oh you were a tenant and didnt settle up with the landlord, IN WRITING ...AND BEFORE YOU HANDED HIM BACK THE KEYS, so you owed some money, so he took you to court and you didnt show up therefore he got a default judgement against you.....and its on your credit report

well PAY UP KIDDO, it will only get worse, they could attach your paycheck!

No I didn't go to court or nothing like that. I gave my 30 day notice to move out. When I moved out I cleaned what I was suppose to shampooing the carpet,scubbing floors,bathrooms...Then after I moved into my other apartment a got a letter saying that I wont be getting my security deposit back because of some stains that didn't come out of the carpet, and that wast it. Now I just got a phone call from a collection agency saying I owe them almost $200.00 for some damage still. I lived in this apartment 3 years ago. My question is, isn't there a 21 day law saying that they have to notify me?

well the landlrod thought you didnt do a good job...

and why didnt you get it in writing, that he wasnt going to give you your security back...I'd be hopping MAD and would be on his doorstep demanding an explanation.

And you didnt have you and the landlord do a moving out checklist so you would have a written copy to fight this..

So pay the money and it will look good on your credit repot.
