What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? new jersey
I received another letter from debt collection agency 30 days after they sent me a "verification or jugement letter" , and say they are compiling info on my employment, property ownership, name of bank, and review of credit history.
Should I call them and tell them I'm filing Bankruptcy, or just
ignore them ?
Can they do anything to my money in my savings accounts ?
Will my BK filing take care of everything ?

Thanks for responses.

Unless the debt is a student loan or, court ordered child/spousal support, the bk should wipe out all of your debts. How soon will you file? Personally, I'd keep a minimal amount of money in the bank and say nothing to the creditor. Let the bk trustee notify there office. I would hurry up and avoid a wage garnishment.

If I withdraw cash from my savings bank account(s), or close out accounts, and then file BK, won't creditors ask where's the money ? But isn't money in bank accounts considered property exemption ? (For New Jersey $850 any property, and $7,500 of unused homestead exemption for Wild Card)

I plan to select attorney this week, but am having problem deciding on a small firm general practice, or large specialized BK firm, and other considerations.

Thanks for response.
