What is the name of your state? TN
I received a letter from an attorney today to collect an old credit card debt. I called the attorney and talked to someone about my account. I told them I had offered the collection agency what I could afford and they turned me down. I made the same offer to the attorney's office. The bill is $5000 and I offered $150 a month. It is all I can pay. The guy -- Pat -- wouldn't tell me his last name, and was fairly condescending. I am afraid they will really be coming after me. Can they attach a lien against my house? What should I expect next?
