Maryland.

Can a collections agency call if I'm still being billed and paying for the account?

thanks

So you're saying...

They can sell my account to a collections agent and still bill me? So, who should I pay?

thanks

Personally, I would choose to pay directly to the original creditor if they are still owner of the debt.... and if they will accept payment (most 'collection agreements' include the stipulation that the creditor will not accept direct payments as that prevents the 'agency' from retaining their allowed percentage of recovery).

Thanks for the advice. At this point I'm not sure who owns the account. American Express is still sending me monthly bills which I am caught up on and RMA is asking for the whole thing.
