I have a credit card debt that was turned over to a collection agency for a few weeks then an attorney started to contact me. I am now unemployed and cannot pay my bill. I offered to settle for 65% but the attorney will only settle for the full amount. What are my options? What is the name of your state?

You can pay the amount in full, negotiate a settlement for a smaller amount, arrange a payment plan, file for bankruptcy, or do nothing.

The creditor is not obligated to accept anything less than the full amount.
