I am currently a college student in Illinois. In the past, the college has allowed anyone with a junior or senior status to live off campus. We have received handbooks and have signed contracts that stated so. Recently however, the college is saying that only Seniors may live off campus. They are making no exceptions and ignoring student outcry (as they always do). My question is, can they do this? Would this consist of a breach of contract? Would the new Illinois Supreme Court decision of Ross v. May Co. have any influence in the matter? Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
