I received a summons yesterday from a law firm collecting $7k from an old account I had started while living in Pennsylvania. Per my credit report, my first date of delinquency on the account was 5/2003, and my first date of major delinquency was 10/2003. However, I attempted to use a debt consolidator to make payments on that account for a few months in 2004. Colorado's statute of limitations is 6 years. Does the six years begin in my case when I first stopped making payments in 2003, or after my last payments in 2004? I am reading conflicting reports and would like to know which is correct. Thank you very much for your time!
