What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TN

Filed lawsuit #1 in Court and served or attempted to serve multiple Defendants. Upon discovery and review of statues of limitation, filed second lawsuit #2 against some of but not all Defendants in lawsuit #1 to comply with statue.

Question #1: May I file Motion to combine lawsuits 1 & 2?
Question #2: If motion to combine lawsuits is denied, what effect, if any, will withdrawing lawsuit #1 have on proceeding with lawsuit #2?

Thanks.
