What is the name of your state? CALIFORNIA

Our business had a two year lease for some commercial space. It expired in June, currently we have been going month to month because we do not want to stay in this location but haven't found a new place yet. My current landlord has been bringing prospective tenants through to view the place (of which I agreed to) but my question is:
since our lease has expired and we are just going month to month, in the state of California, does the landlord have to give us a notice if they rent the space to someone else and if so, what is the amount of notice, i.e. 30 days. I don't want to show up at work on Monday (July24th) for instance to be told we have to get our things out by the end of the month (i.e. July 31st)What is the name of your state?
