I am a retail business owner in So. California. I recently extended my commercial lease for a period of 3 years. Within weeks of signing the option, the building owner sold the building to another party (currently in Escrow). I would now like to walk away from this lease. What are my obligations to the new owner if any? Should I be able to recover my security deposit from the original owner?
