Question: My fiance of 2 years has announced that he no longer wants this relationship and we have to move. Do I have any rights to the new home we built? Is this worth seeking an attorney or should I just accept whatever he is willing to give to us to leave?

Scenario: Two years ago we decided to get engaged and build a house together. We agreed that I had to sell my house before starting construction. We did that in October 1999 and have just about finished building our new home. We moved in April 2000 continuing to work on the house. My daughter began going to school in a new area and we started to get established. The day after christmas my fiance announced that he no longer wanted me or my daughter in his house. He paid for most of the costs. He also has a salary 10 times mine. Percentage wise and time wise my family and I spent the same on the house. We did not get married, however I did put a payment on my wedding dress since we were going to get married soon. Note that the house and the land is solely in his name. There was a life insurance policy on him with me as the beneficiary. Not sure where that stands now. I used his last name whenever there were house matters and my name whenever there were issues with my daughter and work.
