My boyfriend was with his EX for almost 14 years in Texas. They never got legally married and they never lived as husband and wife. She never used his last name and they never had any banking accounts, credit cards, leases, etc. together. He filed her as a dependant on his income tax returns but always used her last name in the dependant part. They moved from state to state quite a bit in the beginning. Is this considered a valid COMMON LAW MARRIAGE in the state of Texas and does he have to go through a Divorce like legally marriaged couples?
