California, married 12 years, separated for 6 years so far. My husband and I decided to take care of his elderly mother, living in her house. ( she refused to leave her home) We sold our house, she quitclaimed her house to him, we used money from the sale of our house along with her money to add on to the home. I took care of her and our two children. He added my name to the deed as community property. We separated. We took out an equity loan on the home to purchase a condo for him to live in. The condo is paid for, held jointly as community property and I am on the loan, but he makes the payments. So there are 2 properties, both titled as community property. Am I entitled to half of each? He claims I am not entitled to any of the condo, and only 1/4 of the home since it was originally his mother's. I have been paying the property taxes while living in the home with the children. The mother passed away.
Thank you.
