i live in missouri, a company accidentally had an additional account set up in my name that should not have been. they sent it to a debt collector and put a bad mark on my credit. i have been paying the debt collector not wanting to further damage my credit. a year has gone by and they have finally admitted their mistake. they are sending a letter to the debt collector and to me saying they made a mistake, also are paying me back the money i sent to the debt collector. i am still unhappy they "accidentally" damaged my credit for a year, in that time i have tried to get a house but this mark deterred me from doing such. they are also sending me back money that i had paid on this account. is there anything else i can do?
